Loop Gear keeps finding innovative ways to make my favorite flat pack flashlight better. The SK-05 Pro 2 MAO was already as close to perfect as any device in its class had ever been. The only feature I thought might be a nice to have was a UV light. And no sooner did I have this thought than I received an email about the launch of the new UV version.
Needless to say, I pulled the trigger immediately and I have zero regrets about that decision. Every single feature that I love about the previous version remains in place. The only difference is that I know have an extra sidelight mode for the UV beam.
The UV beam works quite well, but I do wish I had a faster way to access it directly, such as a dedicated mode on the selector knob. It would also be nice if the higher brightness level on the UV could remain on instead of being limited to momentary.
Please keep in mind that these are tiny , knitpicky complaints and come nowhere close to making this unit anything less than a 5-star rating. I love this light and would recommend it to anyone. I don't keep it in my pocket for EDC as it is a bit bulky for the role, but it is always in my truck and always in my hiking pack. I consider an essential piece of gear for all of my adventures.
