I wanted to give this one 5 stars, but I found a few little quirks that I'm not sure if it's just me or if others might agree.

Let's start with the great things like...

1) The look: SPOT ON! An absolute GEM of a tactical flashlight! This one makes fantasies of all of those war games come to life and then some! Has a nice Fallout feel to it, too. Love how everything you need to have is labeled right on there - Don't even have to read the manual. It's fantastic!

2) The feel: This one feels GREAT in your hands. It's easy to hold and manipulate, and the clip works well enough (although I don't know if I would call the clip very "tactical" you know?) I like how it feels in my pocket weather I'm wearing a coat or a hoodie: It's just there and you know it.

3) The functionality: This is where it get a little iffy, but stay with me here. The charging for this is nice and I like the way the USB port is hidden. (Very clever really!) Dirt does still seem to get in there when in extreme water environments, but it takes a lot of effort to make this happen. I do wish it would have more of a haptic feel when closing the sliding cover - Maybe to feel a click when sliding the cover back in place to know it's covered properly? Overall, the charging port really is pretty snazzy. It's the multi-function tactical power button that concerns me. Sometimes, you just want to turn off the light, but if you press the button for just a bit too long, it doesn't quite turn off when you expect it to. And pressing it lightly enables the light if the lock isn't in place. Just like the USB cover, the lock can easily move without warning as there's nothing to "click" it in lock position. It just glides smoothly both ways with no real friction to hold it in locked (or unlocked) position. With that said, just be careful with this in your pockets so that you don't burn any holes or start an unplanned fire.

Overall: I think this light has some really great features, but I believe it was made more for show rather than full-functionality in the field. Either way, I'm glad I have this piece, and hope others who were lucky enough to get one of these likes it, too!

A cool and powerful flashlight that looks like it would fit perfectly in any survival game! It is well balanced in the hand and has good mechanical features, like the knob at the tail for locking the flashlight: it does not just electronically disable the button but mechanically prevents it from being pushed. Similarly, the charging port is not just a flimsy rubber flap that covers the USB connector, but rather a mechanism that opens and closes with a nice feel to it (bonus: LED for indicating battery status hidden inside). The on/off button has two depths, like the shutter button of a digital camera. This makes the flashlight quite intuitive to use: instead of various combinations of double-clicking and triple-clicking (and sometimes even more), you can get all the useful stuff with just this one button. There is a "tactical" mode that has the strobe functionality, and transitioning to this mode is perhaps not perfectly intuitive (you need to unscrew the battery with the flashlight on and then screw it back) but let's face it - how often do you have to use the strobe function in daily use? One thing to know is that the flashlight ("Distressed Yellow" version) actually comes with the "signs of wear", just like in the pictures. I thought that these pictures were just designed like that to "set the mood" but the scratches and so on are actually part of the paintjob: what you get in the box looks literally just like in the pictures. To some people this may feel a bit artificial, as opposed to wearing it out yourself, but the appearance is really cool in my opinion. If this puts you off, you can go for the usual "Tactical Grey" version instead. Finally, the beam itself is "spotlight with a big halo". If you want a flatter field, you may want to go for the SK05 instead, which has both a spotlight (very similar beam profile as this one) and a flatter-field floodlight in the same convenient unit.
